When troubleshooting your Chromebooks inability to charge it is recommended to start by doing a Hardware Reset – this will perform a disconnect then reconnect with your battery without having to take off the back of your chromebook. Hardware Reset Turn off your Chromebook. Press and hold Refresh + tap Power . When your Chromebook starts up, release Refresh https://support.google.com/chromebook… After the hardware reset plug in your charger and give your Chromebook at least 30 minutes to charge. If you go back to check on it and it’s still not charging you can try different outlets and or different chargers if you have them. Make sure the problem is not your source of power. If your power seems ok then purchase a battery and swap it out. If your chromebook is more than 5 years old really good chance it’s just worn out as they don’t tend to last longer than 3-5 years and that’s IF the battery wasn’t left to drain too often. Replace the battery.. if still having an issue with charging try buying a new charger.
